Job summary

A leading engineering recruitment firm is seeking a Project Engineer with a strong Rail Civils background to ensure technical excellence on contracts in Birmingham. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of relevant experience, managing civil engineering compliance and risk assessments. Chartership or progress towards it is preferred. This contract role offers competitive rates based on experience.

Overview

Job Title: Project Engineer DPE Rail Civils

Type: Contract

Location: Birmingham

Rate: Dependant on experience

Job Reference: JHCDPE

I am looking for a project engineer with a good Rail Civils background, to deliver civil engineering technical excellence for an engineering framework on NW+C.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure the civil engineering on allocated company contracts is technically compliant with the relevant Group, client & company standards.
  • Act as the civil engineering technical contact and liaison with clients and sub-contractors to resolve assurance issues.
  • Ensure integration of design, installation and testing and that the end product meets the client specification and has technical integrity.
  • Carry out project risk assessments. Assist the Tendering department in the preparation of Tenders.
  • Attend engineering reviews as required for allocated contracts.
Essential requirements
  • Be a chartered civil engineer (MICE) or working towards it.
  • Have five years relevant experience.
  • Proven experience of managing and controlling the planning, design reviews to delivery of civil works.
Desirable
  • Although not essential it would be advantageous to have a degree in a relevant discipline such as rail engineering.
