As a Network Design Engineer, you will play a key role in the planning and design of the distribution network, ensuring network security, reliability and long-term asset performance. You will undertake network analysis, develop solutions for customer connections and reinforcement projects, and help deliver safe, efficient and cost-effective designs that support both customer and business objectives. Lead the assessment and delivery of customer connection requests, ensuring compliance with regulatory and licence requirements. Produce and review network designs and quotations for new connections, reinforcements and network alterations. Carry out network analysis and modelling to identify optimal technical solutions. Manage third-party Point of Connection and design approval activities across the licence areas. Apply sound engineering principles to enhance network performance, safety and asset longevity. Identify and implement innovative technical, procedural and commercial solutions. Build strong relationships with customers, stakeholders and delivery partners. Promote a strong safety culture and ensure safe-by-design principles are embedded throughout all activities. Support and mentor less experienced engineers, graduates and trainees.
