Job summary

The AMRC at the University of Sheffield is seeking a Senior Engineer to lead research and deliver high-value manufacturing projects in the Integrated Manufacturing Group. You will guide mechanical design, automated assembly, robot tooling, and direct collaboration with industry partners and research council programmes.

Qualifications

• Proven track record leading manufacturing/engineering projects.
• Experience in mechanical design, assembly and automation.
• Ability to collaborate with industry partners and researchers.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of projects for partner companies and research programmes.
• Provide oversight of junior engineers and ensure timely project outcomes.
• Advise on automated assembly, mechanical design and robot tooling.
• Engage with customers, present findings, and write technical reports.
• Ensure quality, safety, and continuous improvement across the IMG.
