Job summary

Transport for Wales is seeking a Senior Engineer - Highways and Active Travel to design and deliver regional active travel infrastructure as part of a national multi-disciplinary team. The role focuses on urban and rural project delivery, complying with design standards and guidance.

Candidates should have a Civil Engineering degree or equivalent, highway design experience, and proficiency with AutoCAD/Civils 3D. Welsh language not essential but valued.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Experience in highway design practice.
• Experience working in a technical design team.
• Proficiency with design software such as AutoCAD, Civils 3D.
• Knowledge of CDM regulations.

Responsibilities

• Develop concept, detailed designs and construction information for active travel infrastructure.
• Review schemes with stakeholders and ensure high quality street design outcomes.
• Engage with stakeholders to manage reputational and project risks.
• Contribute to guidance development by sharing best practices across teams.
