Job summary

Farrans (Construction) Limited is recruiting a Site Engineer to lead daily inspection of quality on site and support the Site Agent in delivering projects on time and within budget. You will manage site engineers, oversee health and safety, quality control, and ensure compliance with specifications and DWI requirements.

A degree in Civil Engineering and 5 years in large-scale infrastructure, preferably water, are required.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• 5 years of experience on large-scale infrastructure programmes, ideally water sector.
• Planning and delegation to engineering team.
• CSCS / CSR card.
• Knowledge of building regulations, health and safety.
• Microsoft Office packages.
• Full manual UK driving license essential.
• Strong verbal and written communication with stakeholders.
• Attention to detail and planning skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage site engineers and support the Site Agent and supervisors with the day to day running of the site.
• Support the site agent to deliver exemplary health, safety, environmental and quality performance.
• Responsible for quality control, understanding of specifications, and DWI requirements.
• Provide engineering support to ensure technical problems are overcome and technical queries are answered.
• Proactively resolve unexpected technical difficulties and other problems.
• Provide and maintain setting out and dimensional control for accurate construction.

Education

Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent

5 years infrastructure experience (water sector preferred)

Microsoft Office proficiency

Full Manual UK driving license

Excellent communication skills

Job description

You will be primarily involved in the daily inspection of the quality of the work completed onsite. Alongside the site you will initiate continuous improvements to ensure the project is delivered on time and within budget. This will ensure the customers expectations are met, whilst aligning the activities within the industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage site engineers and support the Site Agent and supervisors with the day to day running of the site
• Support the site agent to deliver exemplary health, safety, environmental and quality performance
• Responsible for quality control, understanding of specifications, and DWI requirements.
• Provide engineering support to ensure technical problems are overcome and technical queries are answered
• Take a proactive approach to resolving any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise
• Responsible for providing and maintaining setting out and dimensional control, to ensure accurate construction of the work

Qualifications

• Educated to degree standard in Civil Engineering or equivalent
• You should have demonstrable (5 years) of experience of being part of a large-scale infrastructure programmes of work ideally within the water sector.
• Ability to plan ahead and effectively delegate tasks to the engineering team.
• An appropriate and valid CSCS / CSR card
• Sound knowledge of latest building regulations, legislation and Health and Safety
• Working knowledge in Microsoft Office packages
• Full Manual UK driving license essential
• Good communication skills (verbal and written) and able to engage with all stakeholders at all levels
• Excellent attention to detail and meticulous planning and organizational skills
