Job summary

Strata Consulting in Manchester is recruiting a Senior Engineer to join our North West team. You will manage the engineering design for new housing developments from land acquisition to site completion and supervise external consultants to ensure designs meet regulatory standards.

You will liaise with authorities and contractors to progress approvals, support on-site engineering solutions and mentor junior engineers, driving safe and commercially viable developments.

Qualifications

• Qualified Civil Engineer with residential development experience.
• Knowledge of highways, drainage, utilities and earthworks design.
• Experience in Section 38, 104 and 278 agreements.
• Strong project management with ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders.
• Proactive problem solver with excellent communication and negotiation skills.

The Role

As a Senior Engineer, you’ll be responsible for:

• Managing the engineering design of new housing developments, from land acquisition through to site completion.
• Overseeing external consultants, reviewing designs, and ensuring compliance with technical and regulatory standards.
• Liaising with local authorities, statutory bodies, and contractors to progress approvals and technical agreements.
• Supporting the delivery team with engineering solutions on-site, ensuring developments are safe, efficient, and commercially viable.
• Mentoring and supporting junior engineers within the team.

What We’re Looking For
