Job summary

PSR Solutions seeks a Senior Engineer for a major main contractor project in Slough. The role focuses on delivering engineering activities safely, on time and to quality standards, coordinating substructure, groundworks and external works with the project team on site.

You will review drawings and RAMS, lead technical delivery, and work closely with the Project Manager, commercial team and design group to drive programme progress and value engineering opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience as Senior Engineer or Senior Site Engineer on main contractor projects.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety and Temporary Works.
• Experience coordinating engineers and subcontractors on site.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of engineering activities across the project.
• Support substructure, groundworks and external works delivery.
• Coordinate engineers, subcontractors and wider supply chain.
• Review drawings, RAMS and technical information.
• Resolve technical issues with design team and identify VE opportunities.
• Support programme planning and lookahead milestones.

Senior Engineer - Main Contractor

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Engineer to join a leading main contractor on a major construction project.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong Senior Engineer to take a key role within the project team, overseeing engineering activities from pre-construction through to delivery, while working closely with the Project Manager, commercial team, design team and supply chain.

The Role

The successful Senior Engineer will be responsible for supporting and leading the technical delivery of the project, ensuring works are planned, coordinated and delivered safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.

• Taking ownership of engineering activities across the project.
• Supporting the delivery of substructure, groundworks and external works.
• Coordinating engineers, subcontractors and the wider supply chain.
• Reviewing drawings, specifications, RAMS and technical information.
• Working closely with the design team to resolve technical issues and identify Value Engineering opportunities.
• Supporting programme planning and maintaining short-term lookaheads.
• Monitoring progress and identifying potential risks to programme, cost and quality.
• Coordinating site activities and ensuring engineering requirements are understood by the wider project team.
• Overseeing quality, inspections, snagging and relevant project documentation.
• Managing Temporary Works requirements and ensuring appropriate processes are followed.
• Supporting utility, infrastructure and external works coordination.
• Maintaining accurate as-built and technical records.
• Working closely with the Project Manager and Quantity Surveyor on commercial and delivery matters.
• Providing strong technical leadership and maintaining a visible presence on site.

About You

We are looking for someone with a strong background in main contracting, ideally with experience across substructure, groundworks and/or external works.

You will be a confident engineer who can take ownership of your work, coordinate multiple stakeholders and resolve technical issues proactively.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience as a Senior Engineer or experienced Site Engineer.
• Main contractor experience.
• Strong technical and engineering knowledge.
• Experience coordinating subcontractors and engineering teams.Good understanding of construction health & safety and Temporary Works.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• The ability to work independently while contributing effectively to the wider project team.
• Good commercial and programme awareness.
