Job summary

Arch Law Limited is seeking a Senior Engineer skilled in packaging machinery and automation. You will own design, development and release for manufacture, lead R&D and testing, and drive cost-saving improvements across complex machinery.

The role requires a Mechanical Engineering degree, strong 2D drawing skills, ERP/MRP exposure and experience with pneumatic controls. The position emphasizes autonomy, fast pace and visible impact.

Qualifications

• Strong engineering fundamentals with attention to detail.
• ERP/MRP capability — ideally Business Central, or similar.
• 2D drawing competence and layout design experience.
• High digital literacy with AI tools advantageous.
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar required.
• Understanding of pneumatic controls preferred and ATEX/CE knowledge a plus.
• 10+ years in packaging industry or similar is ideal.
• Ambition, resilience and ownership mindset for the function.

This privately owned engineering manufacturer is expanding fast — and we’re looking for a sharp, detail‑driven engineer who thrives in complex machinery environments.

If you’ve worked with packaging machinery, automation equipment, special‑purpose machinery or similar engineered systems, you’ll feel right at home.

The Role

As part of a growing engineering team, you’ll report to the Lead Engineer and work across the full engineering lifecycle:

• Machinery design for customer orders
• R&D projects and new product development
• Cost‑saving engineering improvements
• Final testing of equipment, occasionally in front of customers
• Full ownership of design, development, and release for manufacture
• Creation of build manuals, user manuals, statutory documentation, and testing documentation

This is a demanding role with high expectations — perfect for someone who wants to step up, take ownership, and make a visible impact.

Requirements

What You’ll Bring

• Strong engineering fundamentals with attention to detail.
• ERP/MRP capability — ideally Business Central, or similar
• 2D drawing competence and confidence with factory/layout design
• High digital literacy — strong with modern tools, and AI skills are a major advantage
• Ambition, resilience, and the hunger to help transform an engineering department
• A Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar
• An excellent understanding of pneumatic control is ideal
• Experience of ATEX and CE marking requirements ideal
• Ideally more than 10 years’ experience from the packagingindustry or similar
