Rullion Managed Services are recruiting a Senior Engineer for a permanent role based in Gosforth. You will lead UK railway engineering operations for the Locomotives product family, combining strategic oversight with deep technical expertise in mechanical and electrical engineering.

You will shape engineering strategy, ensure safety and performance standards, and drive fleet maintenance and project delivery.

Qualifications

  • Chartered Engineer (IMechE or IET) or working towards.
  • Degree or equivalent in rolling stock or technical field.
  • Experience in locomotive environments and leading engineering teams.
  • Strong leadership in dynamic, high-pressure environments.

Job description

Rullion are currently looking for a Senior Engineer for a client based in Gosforth, on a permanent basis.

You will lead the UK railway engineering operations for the Locomotives product family. This role combines strategic oversight with deep technical expertise in mechanical and electrical engineering. You will be responsible for shaping engineering strategy, ensuring compliance with safety and performance standards, and driving innovation across fleet maintenance and project delivery.

Skills and Qualifications
  • Chartered Engineer (IMechE or IET) or willing to work towards
  • Degree or equivalent experience in a technical field (including rolling stock).
  • Experience working within locomotive or similar environment

  • Proven leadership in dynamic, high-pressure environments.
  • Strong customer-focused mindset and commitment to quality.
  • Experience managing engineering change and leading senior teams.
