Job summary

Calibre Search is seeking a Senior Engineer to lead on-site technical delivery for a major civils/energy infrastructure project in Teesside. You will provide engineering direction, review critical submissions and ensure safe, compliant execution on site.

The role requires a degree in civil engineering, practical experience with principal contractors on large schemes, and qualifications such as SMSTS/SSSTS and CSCS, plus a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Senior Engineer on major civils, industrial or energy infrastructure projects.
• Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience working for a Principal Contractor on large, complex schemes.
• SMSTS/SSSTS and CSCS certifications.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day technical and engineering leadership on site.
• Review and approve method statements, drawings and technical submissions.
• Ensure work is carried out in line with design intent, specification and quality standards.
• Support the resolution of technical queries and design changes as they arise.
• Coach and develop junior engineers and graduates within the team.
• Liaise with designers, subcontractors and the wider project team to keep works progressing.

Senior Engineer - Principal Contractor

Teesside

Working with the Principal Contractor on Net Zero Teesside, one of the UK's most significant low-carbon infrastructure programmes, we're looking for a Senior Engineer to join the team delivering this landmark project. This is a genuine opportunity to work on a nationally important scheme, with a business that's investing heavily in the region and in the people delivering it.

The Role

You'll take a lead engineering role across your area of the works, providing technical direction to junior engineers and ensuring works are delivered safely, to programme, and to the standard the project demands. You'll work closely with design, commercial and site teams to keep engineering solutions practical, compliant and deliverable.
