Job summary

Contract Scotland is seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join a well-established contractor delivering major infrastructure projects across Scotland.

You will lead pre-construction activities and work with design teams, clients and site personnel on a significant grid infrastructure project, shaping planning, design and delivery.

Qualifications

• A degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Significant experience in civil engineering and infrastructure.
• Experience on large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Background in consultancy, design or main contracting is advantageous.
• Strong technical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication with multiple stakeholders.
• Ability to lead and support engineers and site teams.
• Good knowledge of construction processes, planning and project delivery.
• Experience in energy, utilities, power, transmission or major infrastructure sectors is beneficial.

Working on a significant grid infrastructure project within the power and transmission sector, you’ll play a key role in the pre-construction and delivery phases of a high-profile project, working closely with design teams, consultants, clients and site personnel.

The Opportunity

You’ll be involved from the early stages of the project, helping shape how works are planned, designed and ultimately delivered on site.

You’ll work closely with internal and external stakeholders to develop practical engineering solutions, manage technical requirements and ensure projects progress safely, efficiently and to the required standards.

Key Responsibilities

About You

The ideal candidate will be an experienced civil engineer with a strong technical background and previous involvement in pre-construction, design or major infrastructure projects.

You’ll ideally have:

• A degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Significant experience within civil engineering and infrastructure.
• Experience working on large-scale infrastructure projects.
