The role suits an analyst with hands-on BESS experience or a strong quantitative background from top-tier consultancies, energy firms, or financial services.

You will deliver market insights with independent, high-quality analysis. You will own projects, coach juniors, and help build expertise in storage economics while engaging with

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in a BESS optimiser, trader, or storage-related role.
• First-class or high second-class university degree in a quantitative discipline.
• Understanding of BESS ownership economics and route-to-market.
• Proven project and process management in teams.
• Ability to derive insights from complex data.
• Clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Interest in applying AI tools to analysis.

Responsibilities

• Deliver rigorous quantitative analysis of GB power, storage and flexibility markets.
• Lead end-to-end projects and plan 2–6 months ahead.
• Line manage and coach 1–3 junior colleagues.
• Lead client workshops and present insights with clear storytelling.
• Develop AI-enabled research processes and improve workflows.
• Contribute to Aurora Flex product development with modeling teams.
