Octopus Energy Generation (OEGEN) seeks an Energy Markets Specialist to provide senior commercial and market expertise across its renewable portfolio. The role focuses on overseeing energy-market activity for a key fund and expanding OEGEN’s strategic BESS capabilities.

You'll translate complex energy markets into clear commercial recommendations, support investment decisions, optimize assets, and drive route-to-market strategies, hedging, and market risk management across funds and assets.

Qualifikationen

• Significant experience in European power markets and renewable energy commercialisation.
• Strong BESS strategy experience including revenue modelling and route-to-market.
• Experience advising renewable IPP, fund manager, utility, or trading house.

Aufgaben

• Lead energy-market coverage for ORIT, including route-to-market performance, revenue strategy, hedging, market risk and key commercial counterparties.
• Build OEGEN’s BESS commercial strategy across priority markets, including revenue underwriting and risk management.
• Provide senior market input into investment decisions, challenging assumptions on power prices and ancillary services.
• Develop standards for BESS assets and reflect lessons from operations in new investments.
• Lead complex commercial processes (optimisers, PPAs) with external providers as needed.
• Monitor energy-market, regulatory and policy developments across OEGEN’s markets.
• Collaborate with Fund Asset Directors and Fund Management to implement market strategies.
• Manage relationships with traders, optimisers, balancing parties, advisers and other commercial partners.
• Define quantitative analysis for hedging, merchant exposure and portfolio risk.
