Job summary

Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCUHB) North Wales is seeking a highly capable Clinical Endoscopist to join its expanding endoscopy service. The post requires independent, JAG-accredited practice with upper and lower GI endoscopy, and a plan to complete a Masters if not already held.

You will work in a multidisciplinary team, contribute to a national JAG training centre, and support ongoing staff development while delivering high-quality patient care across 7 days.

Qualifications

• Masters level education in advanced practice and/or endoscopy.
• JAG accredited endoscopist with independent practice.
• Independent prescriber to be achieved within 18 months of commencing post.
• Registered healthcare professional (NMC or HCPC registration or other relevant registration).

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic Upper Oesophageal-gastro-duodenoscopies (OGD), Colonoscopy and Flexible Sigmoidoscopy on sedated and non-sedated patients.
• Manage own caseload of patients through nurse-led clinics for GI symptoms with support from Consultants.
• Demonstrate advanced clinical judgement, discretion and decision making.
• Diagnose benign and malignant GI conditions and discuss findings with patients and plan management.
• Reflect standards set by professional bodies (BSG, JAG, GRS) in care programmes.

Masters level education in advanced practice and/or endoscopy

JAG accredited endoscopist

Independent prescriber (to be achieved within 18 months)
