Location: London
Salary: £32,000-£35,000 per annum
Vacancy Type: Fixed Term - 18 month fixed-term contract
Closing Date: 2nd November 2026
Groundwork London has secured contracts to deliver the Youth Jobs Guarantee across Central and North London, an ambitious programme designed to support young people who have experienced long-term unemployment into meaningful, paid work opportunities. Over the next 18 months, we will help approximately 1,000 young Londoners gain valuable work experience, develop their confidence and move closer to long-term careers. As a Senior Employment Advisor, you will play a key role in making this happen.
Working with young people referred by Jobcentre Plus, you will guide participants through every stage of their journey, from the moment they join the programme through to securing sustainable employment. Taking the time to understand their aspirations, strengths and support needs, you will provide high-quality information, advice and guidance, helping them develop realistic action plans, overcome barriers and prepare for work. Working closely with our Employer Liaison Team, you will support participants into subsidised placements that align with their goals and abilities, and continue to provide coaching, encouragement and practical support throughout their six-month placement, helping them build confidence, develop workplace skills and successfully transition into long-term employment.
Alongside managing your own caseload, you will play an important role in supporting the wider advisory team. As a senior member of staff, you will provide guidance to Employment Advisors, share best practice and work closely with the Programme Manager to maintain strong working relationships with Jobcentre Plus and other key stakeholders.
To succeed in this role, you will combine strong interpersonal skills with excellent organisational ability. You will be comfortable managing programme outcomes and performance targets, maintaining accurate records and ensuring full compliance with contractual requirements. Most importantly, you will be passionate about helping young people realise their potential and committed to delivering high-quality support that makes a lasting difference.
