Job Description:

Interim Senior Employee Relations Specialist

Location: Onsite – Near Birmingham

Duration: 3 Months

Rate: 550+

We are working with a valued client to recruit an experienced Interim Employee Relations Specialist for a 3-month assignment. This is a hands-on, onsite role based near Birmingham, and is offered on a daily rate basis outside IR35.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on complex employee relations issues including disciplinaries, grievances, performance management, and absence management.
  • Coach and support line managers to handle ER matters confidently and in line with company policy and UK employment law.
  • Manage multiple ER cases concurrently, ensuring timely resolution and mitigating risk to the business.
  • Collaborate with HR colleagues and legal advisors where necessary to manage sensitive and high-risk cases.
  • Support with any organisational change activity such as restructures or TUPE where required.
  • Maintain accurate case records and contribute to trend analysis and reporting.
  • Help embed best practice and consistent ER processes across the organisation.
Candidate Profile
  • Proven experience in a similar senior-level ER role, ideally within complex, fast-paced environments.
  • Strong understanding of UK employment law and its practical application.
  • Confident communicator with excellent stakeholder management skills.
  • Able to work autonomously, use sound judgement, and provide pragmatic solutions.
  • Comfortable being fully onsite and quickly building rapport with managers and teams.
