Job summary

The Wrexham Maelor Hospital is part of Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board in North Wales. We seek a consultant in Emergency Medicine with leadership vision to work with the current team and progress the department.

Applicants should have GMC Specialist Registration or be within 6 months of CCT, with ALS/ATLS/EPLS or equivalent. There are opportunities for special interests and negotiated job plans to support them.

Qualifications

• Evidence of leadership and ability to work with multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience in teaching and training junior doctors / educational supervision.
• Experience with audit and quality improvement activities.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to clinical and educational activities within the Directorate and provide high-quality emergency care with on-call commitment.
• On-call rota is 1:6 for weekends; on-call once per week Mon-Fri.
• Assist nominated consultants in supervision and teaching of junior trainees.
• Contribute to local clinical governance including clinical audits and risk initiatives.
• Co-operate with local management to ensure efficient running of services and contribute to medical management.
• Access to admin and clerical support, with office IT facilities.
