Job description

Overview

We are looking to recruit a qualified Band 7 ECP to join the exciting, fast-paced ED, located within the Urgent and Emergency Care Centre (UECC). The successful candidate will work autonomously within the 'See and Treat' stream, managing patients presenting with minor injuries. The post holder will be responsible for delivering evidence-based care within the ED, in collaboration with nursing, medical and Allied Health Professional (AHP) teams. You will require excellent communication skills and be excited about being part of an innovative team. Individuals should be self-driven, take pride in their work, be highly motivated, professional, whilst maintaining a flexible approach. This role will support the delivery of a high quality, safe and compassionate healthcare service, with all staff acting as role models in all aspects of their work.

Role and Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively alongside the current medical workforce within the UECC.
• Autonomously assess, request and interpret appropriate diagnostics and manage patients with minor injury presentations within ED as well as reviewing minor illness patients within UECC as required.
• Deliver high quality clinical care encompassing education, research and management, grounded in direct compassionate care provision for patients, families, caseloads and populations.
• Provide managerial support to the ECP team as well as support the development of trainees within See and Treat.
• Support the Lead Advanced Clinical Practitioner in the development of the ECP service.
• Promote public health and well-being using 'making every contact count' as an approach to support individuals, carers and families in making positive health-related changes.
• Contribute to safe and effective clinical practice, enhance the patient experience, and support the organisation's objectives and efficient use of resources.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Band 7 Emergency Clinical Practitioner (ECP) with experience in managing both minor injuries and minor illnesses.
• V300 non-medical prescribing qualification.
• Ability to autonomously assess and manage patients within ED and UECC settings.
• Excellent communication skills and a flexible, professional approach.
