Job summary

Rentokil Initial is seeking an experienced Embedded Systems Engineer based in Waterlooville, Hampshire, to lead hardware development across global markets. The role bridges new product development and product lifecycle management, driving improvements and ensuring compliance for multi-component electronic devices.

You will oversee hardware optimization, sustaining engineering, and cross-functional project leadership with QA, Supply Chain, IT, and Marketing.

Qualifications

Senior-level embedded systems experience across full product lifecycle in a multinational environment.
Strong PCB design skills and hardware testing expertise.
Familiarity with firmware governance and scripting (e.g., JavaScript).
Ability to lead cross-functional programs including ECNs and PLM activities.

Responsibilities

Lead hardware development, product optimization, and sustaining engineering for multi-component electronics.
Drive cross-functional project changes with Supply Chain, QA, IT, and Marketing.
Oversee PLM activities: releases, approvals, variant docs, and ECNs.
Document and govern firmware/software changes across connected devices.
Collaborate with suppliers and contract manufacturers to meet quality and regulatory standards.
