Job summary

Rivan Industries in London is seeking a senior embedded systems engineer to architect, ship, and scale industrial hardware and firmware. You will design embedded C/C++ software (RTOS, embedded Linux) and integrate with production tools and procurement systems.

Based at our Bermondsey HQ, the role offers relocation support (£6,000/year), private health insurance, and significant share options for early team members.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in embedded C/C++ with RTOS and embedded Linux.
• Experience with Yocto project and embedded design.
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, Git and automated testing.
• Familiarity with Modbus, CAN, OPC UA and TCP/IP.
• Hands-on hardware troubleshooting and repair.
• Knowledge of IEC 61508 or related safety standards.
• Regulatory compliance (CE/UKCA).
• IEC 61131-3 (ST/LD/FBD).
• Proficiency in Python 3.
• Experience with fleet management and electrical CAD tools.

Responsibilities

• System architecture design that scales.
• Requirements capture, risk analysis, design reviews.
• Firmware design/test/deploy (embedded C/C++, RTOS, embedded Linux).
• Wiring harness design for data and power distribution.
• DfMA, DfT considerations.
• Integrating end-product with production tools, supply chain and procurement systems.
• Hardware and software test and deployment (factory rigs, fleet integrations).
