Fortaegis Technologies is seeking an experienced Embedded Linux / Firmware Engineer in the UK. The role focuses on developing robust, secure low-level software from boot through kernel, across pre-silicon validation to post-silicon bring-up.

Candidates should have 5+ years in firmware/embedded software, strong ARM Cortex-A and Linux kernel experience, and a solid track record with unit testing and API design. Collaboration with hardware and architecture teams is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of firmware and embedded software development experience.
• Experience with ARM Cortex-A processors and peripherals.
• Hands-on Linux kernel development: device drivers, device tree, kernel space debugging.
• Experience with firmware unit testing and pre-/post-silicon validation.
• Strong API/design skills for robust, maintainable code.
• Experience with TCP/IP stack in kernel/embedded environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and debug firmware and low-level system software for ARM Cortex-A based SoCs.
• Maintain Linux kernel code: drivers, device tree, and platform integration for new silicon.
• Implement and execute comprehensive unit testing strategies to ensure quality.
• Participate in pre-silicon and post-silicon validation and bring-up activities.
