Job summary

Humand Talent is seeking a Senior Embedded Firmware Engineer to lead electronics design from concept through to production. You’ll own analogue and digital circuits, develop firmware, design PCBs and work on connected product technologies with EMC and DFA/DFM considerations.

Join a multidisciplinary R&D team where you’ll mentor engineers, influence technical decisions and help shape next generation products for reliable manufacturing and scalable deployment.

Qualifications

Our client is looking for a Senior Embedded Firmware Engineer to join its R&D team and play an influential role in developing new products and improving established designs.

• Own electronics development across the full product lifecycle, progressing designs from early concepts and feasibility through development, verification, production release and ongoing improvement.

• Develop embedded firmware, translating requirements into well-structured, tested and maintainable software while working with version control and release processes.

• Solve real engineering problems, investigating technical issues and working collaboratively with colleagues across R&D, production and other business functions.
• Shape future products, evaluating new ideas, technologies and potential product improvements and turning promising concepts into practical proposals.
• Become a technical mentor, sharing knowledge with developing engineers and helping strengthen engineering practices across the team.
• Have a voice in technical decisions, constructively challenging assumptions and contributing ideas that improve products, processes and engineering standards.

About You

You’ll be joining a role designed for someone who has already built strong electronics expertise and now wants the scope to apply it across complete product development.

You’ll get to work with analogue and digital electronics, embedded microprocessors, firmware development environments, PCB design tools, communications technologies and production engineering processes.

The ideal background is a blend of hardware and embedded software experience, with enough commercial product-development exposure to understand what it takes to move from a technically successful design to something that can be reliably manufactured, approved and supported.

Experience in areas such as the following would be particularly useful:

• Strong analogue and digital electronics design knowledge.
• Hands-on hardware development and embedded firmware/software experience.
• PCB and microprocessor-based product development.
• Experience taking products from feasibility or concept through to production.
• Understanding of design for manufacture and assembly (DFM/DFA).

Our client is particularly interested in established engineers with several years of relevant product-development experience, but the wishlist above is not intended to exclude talented candidates whose experience has been gained through a slightly different route.
