This role involves engaging in all stages of product development, from concept to continuous improvement, focusing on cutting-edge X-ray cargo and vehicle inspection systems. You will design electronic components and systems, manage Bill of Materials, and collaborate with external design services. If you are passionate about electronics and eager to contribute to innovative security solutions, this opportunity is perfect for you.
Rapiscan Systems is an industry leader in detection technology, providing cargo and vehicle inspection systems and services for ports, borders, military, high-threat facilities, and checkpoints to help customers combat terrorism, drug smuggling, illegal immigration, and trade fraud. Our commitment to excellence in imaging performance, innovative design, and uncompromising quality ensures our solutions consistently deliver best-in-class imaging, high reliability, and operator satisfaction, to help customers find threats and contraband with ease and confidence.
Working within the Cargo and Vehicle Inspection section of Rapiscan Systems Engineering team, you will be involved in projects at all stages of the product lifecycle, from initial concept generation, new product introduction, to continuous improvement in manufacture. The successful candidate will work within a team of Electronics Design Engineers, reporting to the Chief Electronics Engineer, designing electronic components and systems on X-ray Cargo and Vehicle Inspection (CVI) scanning equipment.
Rapiscan’s products use proprietary data acquisition systems based on modern electronic components and techniques. Joining the hardware design team, this role is responsible for the design and implementation of next-generation core technology for data acquisition within the Cargo Division. Managing BoMs and revision control, as well as lifecycle management, will be important aspects of this role.
