Job summary

Kodu in the United Kingdom is seeking a senior electronics engineer to own hardware and embedded firmware from concept to production. You will meet customers, capture requirements, create specifications, design circuits, write firmware, and support the build through to manufacture.

Projects run from a couple of weeks to a couple of months. You will work remotely with occasional travel to Chester, taking ownership of end-to-end design across multiple industries and leading engineering decisions.

• Proven experience designing electronics hardware and writing embedded firmware that runs on it.
• Track record of owning projects end to end and making design decisions independently.
• Experience working with customers to turn loose requirements into clear specifications.

• Location - Remote, with occasional travel to Chester

The Business:

An established electronics design and manufacturing company in Cheshire with a small, close engineering team.

A true end to end process, your work goes from schematic to production under one roof. Customers span a wide range of industries, so no two projects look the same.

The role

Most projects are hardware and firmware together, sometimes hardware alone, from new designs to PCB re-spins and updates.

This role is end to end, each project is different:

• Meet the customer
• Gather the requirements
• Turn req's into a specification
• Design the circuit
• Write the firmware
• Support the build through to manufacture

Projects run from a couple of weeks to a couple of months.

There are experienced engineers, but the call on your project is yours.

It suits a senior engineer who likes owning their work

What you'll need

• Proven experience designing electronics hardware and writing the embedded firmware that runs on it, taking both from schematic to working product.
• A track record of owning projects end to end on your own, making the design decisions and finding the answers yourself.
• Experience working directly with customers to turn loose requirements into a clear specification.
• Work in a design consultancy or a design and manufacturing business, across several industries rather than one product line.
