Job summary

Avanti Recruitment Limited is recruiting for an Electronics Engineer / Senior Electronics Engineer to join an established engineering business developing specialist instrumentation for global markets, based on site in Gateshead.

This hands-on R&D role covers electronics development from concept to manufacture, with opportunities to lead workstreams and influence product direction, collaborating with firmware, software and mechanical teams.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of commercial electronics development experience.
• Strong schematic and PCB design experience.
• Analogue and digital electronics knowledge.
• Experience taking products through to manufacture.
• Experience with testing, validation and troubleshooting.
• Exposure to EMC, product approvals or regulatory compliance.
• Ability to manage your own workload and own projects.
• Strong communication and collaborative working skills.
• Experience with embedded C is beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities

• Analogue and digital electronic design.
• Schematic capture and PCB design/layout.
• Prototype development, testing and debugging.
• Product approvals, design validation and EMC compliance.
• DFM, DFT, FMEA and design-for-cost activities.
• Low-level firmware development and modification.
• Support products through the full development lifecycle.
• Work closely with firmware, software, mechanical and other teams.
• Research new technologies for future product development.
• Take ownership of technical workstreams and engineering decisions.
