Empresaria UK Ltd is seeking a Senior Electronics Engineer for an exciting defence industry role. The position is hybrid-based in the UK and offers a competitive hourly rate of £55-£75.

You will lead electronic design activities across the full product lifecycle, collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams in a regulated environment. The role requires strong analogue and digital design, multi-layer PCB experience, and proficiency with tools like Altium, OrCAD or KiCad.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a Senior Electronics Engineer or similar position.
• Strong analogue and digital electronics design background.
• Multi-layer PCB design and layout experience.
• Knowledge of EMC/EMI design principles and compliance requirements.
• Experience with PCB design tools and creating technical artefacts.

Responsabilités

• Design and develop electronic circuits and multi-layer PCB assemblies.
• Support development from concept through to production.
• Manage component obsolescence and identify replacements.
• Conduct design reviews, verification and validation activities.
• Produce and maintain schematics, BOMs and documentation.
• Support manufacturing with investigations and issue resolution.
• Collaborate with software, mechanical and systems teams.
• Ensure designs meet performance, quality and compliance.

Senior Electronics Engineer

Defence industry | Inside IR35 | £55-£75 per hour | Hybrid Working | West Sussex

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Senior Electronics Engineer to join a highly regarded engineering organisation delivering advanced technology solutions within a complex and regulated environment.

This role will see you working across the full product lifecycle, supporting both new product development and the continued evolution of existing systems. You'll take a lead role in electronic design activities, collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver robust and reliable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop electronic circuits and multi-layer PCB assemblies
• Support the development of new products from concept through to production
• Manage component obsolescence and identify suitable replacement solutions
• Conduct design reviews, verification and validation activities
• Produce and maintain schematics, BOMs and technical documentation
• Support manufacturing and production teams with technical investigations and issue resolution
• Work closely with software, mechanical and systems engineering teams
• Ensure designs meet relevant performance, quality and compliance requirements

Essential Experience

• Proven experience in a Senior Electronics Engineer or similar position
• Strong background in analogue and digital electronics design
• Multi-layer PCB design and layout experience
• Knowledge of EMC/EMI design principles and compliance requirements
• Experience with tools such as Altium, OrCAD, KiCad or equivalent
• Strong fault-finding, debugging and problem-solving skills
• Experience producing technical documentation and design artefacts

Desirable Experience

• Defence, aerospace, marine or other high-integrity engineering sectors
• Power management, motor control or servo systems
• Component lifecycle and obsolescence management
• Simulation and analysis tools including MATLAB, Simulink, LT-Spice or Python
• Military standards and EMC compliance activities
