Qualifications

Senior Electronics Engineer Marlow - 4 days pw on site, 1 day at home

Copello are working with a defence client who are looking for a passionate and driven Senior Electronics Engineer to join their Antenna Business Unit team to work on products that shape the future of the next generation of aerospace and defence systems. You will have the opportunity to learn from experienced engineers, apply your skills to real-world problems, and contribute to the development of innovative and reliable electronics products.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Take ownership for the development of architecture to fulfil system requirements.
  2. Creation of design and test requirements.
  3. RTL design and verification (VHDL).
  4. Schematic capture of mixed signal circuit Design (Analogue, RF and Digital) using Altium or similar.
  5. Test, characterisation and verification of prototype and product designs.
  6. Circuit simulation using LT Spice, Agilent ADS.
  7. Use various laboratory equipment such as VNAs, RF Spectrum Analyser and Oscilloscopes to conduct measurements.

Skills required
  1. A strong experience of CPLD/FPGA firmware (VHDL) and their development tools (e.g. Quartus).
  2. Good knowledge of current high speed digital technologies, CPLD, Microprocessor, FPGA, DDR Memory.
  3. Experience in design of RF, High Speed digital, Power Supply, common interface busses such as SPI, I2C.
  4. Familiarity with electronics design tools for schematic capture, circuit simulation and PCB layout.
  5. Experience with board bring-up, debug and electronics testing within a lab environment using standard test tools such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analysers, signal generators, and power supplies.
  6. Experience in Project life-cycle delivery from bids to operation.
  7. Production of high quality Documentation.
  8. Follow engineering best practices, company governance and aerospace standards and processes such as AS9100, ARP4754A, DO-254, and DO-178.

Qualifications
  1. A bachelor's degree or higher in Electronic and Electrical engineering, or a related field.
  2. A minimum of 3+ years' experience in RTL Design and Verification (preferably VHDL) in either a product-development or IP-development role.
  3. A minimum of 3+ years' experience of ideally either Xilinx Vivado/ISE or alternatively ASIC design team experience.
  4. Experience of Timing constraints creation, analysis and closure both CPLD/FPGA on-chip and inter-device.
  5. Experience of configuration management in a team environment.
  6. Knowledge of releasing firmware to Production.
  7. Experience of deriving and capturing system level requirements from high level customer requirements.
  8. Experience of interfacing with hardware devices and peripherals.
  9. Knowledge of DO-254, DO-178 would be advantageous.
