Our client, a leader in the Defence & Security industry, specializes in underwater systems. They seek a Senior Electronics Engineer to develop complex electronics for their innovative systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Interpret system requirements and decompose them into hardware requirements.
  • Conduct electronics and firmware development activities, including full system, sub-system, and board design/coding reviews.
  • Ensure technical solutions meet customer, legislative, and business needs.
  • Provide technical oversight throughout project lifecycle.
  • Support team planning and estimation for new projects.
  • Act as Project Engineering Lead (PEL) and/or Work Package Manager (WPM).
  • Identify and resolve qualification, certification, and safety issues.
  • Produce technical documentation such as management plans, specifications, design documents, and test plans.
  • Approve design change requests and concessions.
  • Coach and mentor junior engineers.
  • Liaise with customers and suppliers.
  • Oversee initial testing and integration, including formal testing.
Role Requirements:
  • Experience across the project lifecycle as an electronics/firmware engineer, preferably within the defense sector.
  • Hands-on experience designing complex systems with multiple electronics disciplines.
  • Successful delivery of solutions on time and within budget.
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary teams including project management, systems, mechanical, and software engineering.
  • Broad exposure to analog and digital technologies.
  • Design for EMC, electrical safety, and signal integrity, including schematic and PCB layout.
  • Familiarity with relevant electronics branches (power, high-speed digital, analog, RF, Sonar).
  • Proficiency with PMRP and ECAD tools.
  • Understanding of design for manufacture and full project lifecycle.
  • Prototyping, testing, and verification at PCB, unit, and subsystem levels.
  • Component selection considering obsolescence and environmental standards (REACH, RoHS).
  • Knowledge of engineering tools such as DOORS, ERPs, and configuration management.
  • Ability to acquire SC clearance.

Management: This role manages the electronic engineering team.
