Senior Electronic Hardware Design Engineer - Colchester - Up to 63,000A leading electronics engineering company is seeking a Senior Electronic Hardware Design Engineer to join their team. This is a great opportunity to lead complex development projects, designing and testing advanced hardware systems.
What You'll Do:
- Define product specifications with Product Management
- Lead the design of digital, analogue, and RF hardware using Altium Designer
- Perform component selection, simulation, and testing
- Debug and validate hardware using lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analysers)
- Collaborate with mechanical/software teams for integration
- Manage the full development lifecycle from concept to production
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical support
- Ensure designs meet industry standards and regulatory requirements
What You'll Need:
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Electronic Engineering (or equivalent experience)
- Proven experience as a Senior Electronic Hardware Design Engineer
- Expertise in Altium Designer, schematic capture, and PCB layout
- Strong knowledge of RF, high-speed signal design, EMI/EMC, and power management
- Confident using lab tools for debugging and validation
- Experience working in cross-functional teams
- Knowledge of FPGA design (VHDL, Verilog) or microcontroller systems is a plus
