Job summary

Leonardo in Basildon is seeking a Principal Electro-Optic Systems Engineer to lead the integration and testing of EO seeker prototypes. You will drive system requirements, develop algorithms and work with electronics, software, firmware and mechanical engineering teams to mature technology demonstrators.

The role offers a hybrid working model and opportunities to contribute to advanced EO sensor development within a globally leading aerospace and defence company.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with electro-optic system development and integration.
• Engineering or science-based honours degree or equivalent experience.
• Understanding of passive and active EO systems; systems engineering background preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead integration and testing of EO seeker prototypes with cross-disciplinary teams.
• Define system and sub-system requirements and verify performance with test engineers.
• Develop algorithms and perform data analysis for performance characterisation.
• Contribute to design discussions with electronics, software, firmware and mechanical engineering teams.
