Job summary

VEV LV seeks a Senior Electrician to join the core team delivering in-house LV capabilities for EV infrastructure and energy projects.

You will lead on-site installation, testing, and commissioning, ensuring quality and safety across multi-disciplinary teams while mentoring junior electricians and driving continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Must hold NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certified (BS 7671).
• 2391/2394/2395 Testing & Inspection certification.
• ECS/JIB Gold Card holder.
• Minimum 5+ years LV installation experience including testing.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver low voltage electrical installations across EV infrastructure, battery systems and other sustainable projects.
• Ensure all work complies with BS7671, VEV policies and NICEIC standards.
• Perform inspections, testing and commissioning with thorough documentation.
• Interpret schematics and drawings; collaborate with engineers to align delivery with design and programme.
• Provide on-site leadership, mentoring junior electricians, promoting quality and safety.
• Support internal performance tracking, testing accuracy and governance activities.
• Collaborate with the wider VEV team to deliver end-to-end projects.
• Contribute to developing VEV LV as a saleable high-performance unit.

Position overview

We are looking for a Senior Electrician to join the foundational team delivering VEV's in house LV capability. This is a hands‑on, senior‑level field role for an electrician with a strong technical foundation, leadership qualities, and a desire to support decarbonisation at scale. You'll take responsibility for executing and overseeing critical installation and testing works - while playing a pivotal role in shaping the quality, safety, and culture of VEV LV.

Core responsibilities

• Lead and deliver low voltage electrical installations across EV infrastructure, battery systems, and other sustainable projects
• Ensure all work is compliant with BS7671 wiring regulations, VEV policies, and NICEIC certification standards
• Execute inspections, testing, and commissioning for electrical systems with detailed documentation
• Interpret schematics and drawings, and work alongside engineers to align delivery with design and programme
• Provide on‑site leadership, mentoring junior electricians and embedding a culture of quality and safety
• Support internal performance tracking, testing accuracy, and governance activities
• Work collaboratively across the wider VEV team to support end to end project delivery
• Actively participate in the development of VEV LV as a saleable high-performance unit

The successful candidate will

• Be NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation certified
• Be 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) certified
• Be 2391 or 2394/2395 Testing and Inspection certified
• Have ECS/JIB Gold Card
• Have a minimum of 5+ years of LV installation experience including testing responsibilities
• Have a strong commitment to safety, technical quality, and low carbon impact
• Hold a full UK driving licence
