ABOUT YOU

Intertek Electrical is currently looking for a Senior Test Engineer to be based in Milton Keynes. This is an important and exciting opportunity as Intertek aims to grow its engineering team to meet market requirements.

The key purpose of this role is to complete electrical safety evaluations for Intertek’s global clients. Working within the UK team, the senior test engineer will evaluate products and documentation to ensure compliance with relevant standards. The role also involves providing technical support to operations, sales, and marketing departments.

Required skills and experience:

• Good IT skills, including experience with Excel, Word, and data retention systems
• Experience working within a Quality Management System
• Attention to detail and ability to interpret standards
• Ability to make independent technical decisions and judgments
• Effective communication skills with clients and team members
• Background in product safety testing, grid code, inverters, EV charging, BESS, energy storage
• Knowledge of electrical safety standards such as IEC/EN 50549, UL 1741 SA, IEEE 1547, 60335, 62368, 60730
• Experience with certification schemes and country-specific requirements
• Experience in safety-critical design, electrical product development, grid compliance, high voltage systems
• Experience generating test reports for certification
• Experience working in an ISO 17025 accredited laboratory
• Experience with Yokogawa or similar data acquisition tools, analyzers, AC/DC simulators, RLC load banks, and communication interfaces
