ABOUT YOU

Intertek Electrical is currently looking for a Senior Test Engineer based in Milton Keynes. This is an exciting opportunity as Intertek aims to expand its engineering team to meet market demands.

The key responsibility is to perform electrical safety evaluations for Intertek's global clients. Working within the UK Electrical team, the senior test engineer will collaborate with clients to assess their products and documentation to ensure compliance with relevant test standards. The role also involves supporting various departments within UK Electrical, providing technical assistance to operations, sales, and marketing teams.

Required skills and experience:

• Proficiency with IT tools, including Excel, Word, and data retention systems
• Experience working within a Quality Management System
• Attention to detail and ability to interpret standards
• Independent decision-making and engineering judgment skills
• Effective communication with customers and team members
• Background in product safety testing, grid code, inverters, EV charging, BESS, energy storage
• Knowledge of electrical safety standards such as IEC/EN 50549, UL 1741 SA, IEEE 1547, 60335, 62368, 60730
• Understanding of certification schemes, processes, and country-specific requirements
• Experience in safety-critical design, electrical product development, grid compliance, high voltage systems
• Experience generating test reports for certification and customer purposes
• Experience working in an ISO 17025 accredited laboratory
• Familiarity with Yokogawa or similar data acquisition and analysis tools, AC/DC simulators, RLC load banks, communication interfaces

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
