This is a hands-on senior role combining technical expertise with leadership responsibilities. You will support the Electrical Services Manager with the planning and allocation of work, provide guidance to apprentices and team members, and help ensure maintenance activities are carried out safely, effectively, and in compliance with relevant regulations. You will have significant experience working on single and three-phase electrical systems, lighting control systems and be confident undertaking testing, inspections, certification, and remedial works.

The successful candidate will have proven fault-finding and diagnostic skills, be able to interpret electrical drawings, and have a strong understanding of current electrical legislation and safe working practices, and the confidence to liaise with suppliers, manufacturers, contractors, and stakeholders when technical advice is required, experience supervising or mentoring colleagues would be advantageous, alongside knowledge of various lighting control systems and motor control circuits.

You will be a proactive and practical problem solver with excellent communication skills, capable of working independently and as part of a wider team, participate in the out-of-hours emergency call-out rota, and work flexibly to meet operational demands. In return, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the maintenance and development of a diverse estate while supporting the delivery of an excellent experience for our students, staff, and visitors.
