Job summary

Sunswap is seeking a Senior Electrical Systems Engineer in Leatherhead, UK to design and deliver low‑voltage DC and mains AC electrical systems from concept to production. You will set electrical design standards, lead safety compliance, and mentor engineers while remaining hands‑on with practical work.

The role supports Sunswap's mission to replace legacy refrigeration tech, with global scale plans, a strong R&D culture, and generous employee benefits.

Qualifications

• Degree in electrical/automotive/aerospace engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in electrical systems design and safety considerations.
• Experience performing hazard analysis (HAZOP/FMEA/OMRA) and deriving design mitigations.

Responsibilities

• Own design, development and delivery of low-voltage DC and mains AC electrical systems across the product lifecycle.
• Generate, check and release electrical schematics.
• Define and maintain electrical design standards and best practices.
• Lead component selection and sourcing for electrical systems.
• Lead investigation and resolution of electrical design issues (8D/ICA).
• Lead hazard analysis and safety-case activity for electrical systems.
