Cobalt Energy Limited seeks an experienced electrical engineer to design and implement systems for grid-scale and renewable projects across the UK. You will model, simulate, and optimise energy systems, develop control strategies, and oversee testing and commissioning on-site and remotely with travel as required.

Applicants should hold an electrical engineering degree, be chartered or certifiable, and have hands-on SCADA and MATLAB/AutoCAD experience. Travel across sites is expected.

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• Professional engineering certification or chartered status.
• Proven experience in engineering and implementation of power generation solutions.
• Familiarity with SCADA systems.
• Solid understanding of grid integration requirements, power system dynamics, and relevant industry standards (IEC, ENA, BS7671).
• Proficiency in system modelling and simulation software, such as MATLAB, AutoCAD, or equivalent.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical and practical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve technical issues using innovative ideas.
• Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of health,safety, and environmental regulations related to energy generation systems.
• Familiarity with renewable energy technologies, such as Energy from Waste, solar PV, wind power, battery technologies, energy storage & generation systems, and associated components.
• Understanding of energy project financing and economic evaluation methodologies.
• Design and engineer electrical systems for various applications, including grid-scale installations, commercial and industrial facilities, and renewable energy projects.
• Conduct feasibility studies, technical assessments and oversight of project delivery.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, project managers, and technicians.
• Perform system modelling, simulation, and optimisation to maximise performance and efficiency.
• Develop and implement control strategies for systems, ensuring safety and reliability.
• Stay updated with advancements in technologies, regulations, and best practices; ensure compliance with standards.
• Support project development activities, including site visits, data analysis, and technical reports.
• Conduct testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting to project and operational teams.
• Collaborate with utilities, regulatory bodies, and technology suppliers to facilitate project execution.
