Job summary

SSE plc is seeking experienced Linespersons for our Southern Electric Power Distribution team. The role involves construction and repair work on networks from LV up to 11/33kV, with a strong focus on safety and customer service.

You must hold DNO electrical qualifications and be prepared for out-of-hours standby duties; a full UK driving licence is essential. This is not a trainee role and offers career progression within a stable energy infrastructure group.

Qualifications

• Must hold DNO electrical qualifications; not a trainee position.
• Experience in construction/repair of electrical network components is essential.
• UK or overseas overhead line qualifications (LV, HV, 11kV & 33kV) from a recognised training school; 11kV Live Line working is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Carry out construction and repair work on networks from LV up to 11/33kV.
• Ensure safety of yourself and colleagues and uphold a strong safety culture.
• Respond promptly to emergencies to maintain service to customers.
• Work outdoors in all weather and undertake out-of-hours standby duties.
