Job summary

Andrews Recruitment Group is recruiting an Electrical Lead for a major industrial manufacturing operation in Dunbar, East Lothian. This senior leadership role combines technical oversight with people management and budget control.

You will drive plant reliability, manage high‑voltage infrastructure and implement maintenance strategies to improve uptime and safety. Strong experience in heavy industry environments and regulatory compliance is essential.

Qualifications

• Significant electrical engineering experience in heavy industry or industrial manufacturing.
• Experience leading or supervising an electrical maintenance team.
• Strong knowledge of high-voltage infrastructure and industrial electrical systems.
• Electrical engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
• Knowledge of ATEX/DSEAR or CompEx is advantageous.
• Experience with motors, drives, control circuits and industrial equipment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the site's electrical engineering and maintenance team.
• Oversee electrical maintenance, reliability and performance across a large plant.
• Manage high-voltage infrastructure, power distribution and equipment.
• Implement preventative and predictive maintenance strategies.
• Identify recurring faults and opportunities to improve plant reliability.
• Develop long-term replacement and obsolescence plans.
• Plan and deliver engineering improvement projects and capex proposals.
• Manage budgets, expenditure and resources for the department.
• Ensure electrical inspections and compliance with safety regulations.
• Oversee safe execution of electrical works and training of staff.
