Job summary

A Senior Electrical Design Engineer is sought for a leading design and build organisation delivering major infrastructure projects across the UK water sector. You will contribute to multi-billion-pound investment programmes focused on wastewater treatment, water infrastructure, and environmental improvements across the North West.

Based in Manchester, you will oversee full lifecycle engineering from concept design through commissioning, delivering innovative, sustainable solutions and ensuring

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status (or working towards) or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience delivering high-quality engineering solutions within regulated environments.
• Strong understanding of design, safety, and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review electrical designs for water and wastewater treatment systems.
• Work with systems including MCCs, LV distribution, cabling, instrumentation, PLCs, SCADA, and industrial networks.
• Produce and review technical specifications and support procurement activities.
• Evaluate supplier tenders and technical submissions.
• Mentor and support junior engineers and graduates.
• Ensure compliance with design standards and industry regulations.
• Build strong working relationships with stakeholders and project teams.
