Goldman Tech Resourcing seeks an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design and delivery of renewable energy grid connection and evacuation infrastructure in the UK. You will own projects from concept through procurement, construction and commissioning, coordinating with utilities and contractors.

You will mentor junior engineers, ensure compliance with grid codes, protection and earthing standards, and contribute to risk management.

Qualifikationen

• BEng/BSc Eng in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 10+ years post-qualification experience.
• Hands-on with 11kV–132kV substations and overhead lines.
• ECSA registration or eligible.
• Strong protection, earthing, switching and power-system fundamentals.
• Understanding of South African electrical standards, grid codes and renewable energy evacuation systems.
• Excellent report-writing and drawing-review skills.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel nationally.

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design and technical delivery of renewable energy grid connection and evacuation infrastructure. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of complex electrical engineering projects, from initial concept and design through procurement, construction and commissioning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead electrical design for 11kV to 132kV substations, switching stations and grid connection infrastructure.
• Develop and review overhead line designs, including conductor selection, structures, clearances and earthing.
• Prepare and review single-line diagrams, protection and control schemes, equipment specifications and technical studies.
• Liaise with utilities, network operators and grid authorities to ensure compliance with connection requirements and applicable grid codes.
• Review contractor and vendor designs, drawings and technical submissions.
• Support procurement through technical specifications and tender evaluations.
• Provide technical guidance during construction, testing, commissioning and project handover.
• Mentor junior engineers and maintain high standards of technical quality and risk management.

Requirements:

• BEng, BSc Eng in Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent relevant qualification.
• Minimum 10 years' post-qualification electrical engineering experience.
• Direct, hands-on experience with 11kV to 132kV substations and overhead lines is essential.
• ECSA registration or eligibility to register.
• Strong knowledge of protection systems, earthing, switching and power system fundamentals.
• Understanding of South African electrical standards, grid codes and renewable energy evacuation systems.
• Excellent technical report-writing and drawing-review skills.
• Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to project sites nationally.

Advantageous:

• Experience with Independent Power Producer projects.
• Exposure to systems above 132kV.
• Experience in consulting engineering or EPCM environments.
• Familiarity with power system analysis software and design tools.
