Job summary

Nottingham Trent University is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join the Estates and Campus Services team. The role focuses on safe, compliant and efficient operation of the university’s electrical, distribution and generation systems, with hands-on leadership of high voltage networks.

The successful candidate will design and manage electrical installation projects, supervise contractors, and ensure adherence to health and safety legislation. Interviews will be held in Nottingham.

Qualifications

• Experience in electrical systems operation and maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of electrical safety standards and regulations.
• Ability to lead and mentor a team of technicians.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for the safe, compliant and efficient operation of the university’s electrical, distribution and generation systems.
• Lead the operation, maintenance and development of the university’s high voltage network.
• Design, deliver and manage electrical installation works and act as client where consultants are appointed.
• Ensure compliance with legislation including HSE, CDM, and ES Regs where applicable.
• Mentor and develop in-house Electrical Technicians and oversee power generation and UPS systems.
