Job summary

Essar Oil (UK) Limited at the Stanlow Manufacturing Complex in Ellesmere Port seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer to join the Project Assurance Team. You will provide technical assurance for HV and LV electrical aspects of CapEx projects on a Top Tier COMAH site, working with design teams and EPC contractors from concept through commissioning.

Qualifications

• BSc or MSc in Electrical Engineering; chartered or working towards preferred.
• Strong experience with HV/LV electrical systems in large industrial projects.
• Experience coordinating with EPC contractors and ensuring design intent through execution.

Responsibilities

• Define early-stage assessments for electrical scope and major equipment concepts.
• Ensure compliant, robust electrical designs aligned with standards and regulations.
• Review and validate electrical deliverables (SLDs, load studies, protection schemes).
• Provide technical oversight during construction and commissioning activities.
• Support risk and hazard studies (HAZOP/LOPA) and ensure mitigations are in place.
• Act as a senior electrical authority and guidance on safety and design.
• Mentor less-experienced engineers and promote good electrical engineering practices.
• Maintain electrical knowledge management systems and project records.
