Job summary

First Recruitment Group is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer on a contract basis to support critical infrastructure maintenance at Heathrow. You will develop and improve electrical maintenance procedures, risk assessments and PPM documentation, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and safety requirements.

You will work with site personnel to roll out procedures, identify maintenance gaps, and provide technical guidance on electrical installation and hazardous area requirements,

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical, Electronic or Control Engineering.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) or IEng status, or working towards.
• 5–10+ years of engineering experience in relevant sectors.
• Knowledge of UK electrical regulations and standards.
• Experience with hazardous area classifications and installations.
• Understanding of bonding, earthing, inspection and testing.
• Experience with CE marking requirements for plant/equipment.
• Knowledge of ATEX, PED, LVD, Machinery Directive and EMC guidance.
• Awareness of risk identification and HSE requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop Electrical Maintenance Procedures, Risk Assessments and PPM documentation.
• Roll out and implement procedures across sites.
• Identify gaps and plan corrective actions.
• Provide technical guidance on electrical maintenance and installation requirements.
• Ensure activities align with industry regulations and safety guidance.
• Support compliance for hazardous area installations and explosive atmospheres.
• Contribute to risk identification, assessment and management.
• Engage with stakeholders to promote safe and effective maintenance practices.
• Provide support on electrical safety, asset integrity and operational reliability.
