Job summary

Heathrow Airport Limited is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to lead the development of our electrification strategy and future electrical infrastructure. You will drive asset strategy, lifecycle plans, and ensure safety and sustainability across critical airport systems.

You will mentor teams, advise on engineering decisions, and work with suppliers to deliver value while aligning with Heathrow’s carbon reduction targets.

Qualifications

• Chartered Engineer status or equivalent demonstrable experience.
• Asset management qualification with proven experience in developing and delivering asset strategies and plans within complex sectors.
• Demonstrated track record of delivering effective asset management plans.
• Strong understanding of safety and sustainability impacts, with knowledge of regulatory frameworks.
• Commercially astute with ability to deliver measurable business benefits.
• Strategic and critical thinker with ability to influence across a multi-stakeholder environment.

Responsibilities

• Create Asset System Strategies and Asset Plans to support long-term business and master plans.
• Develop long-term asset plans (20–30 years) for regulatory periods with substantiation.
• Provide SME guidance and risk analysis to key engineering decisions.
• Ensure development and engineering teams follow asset standards and improve where needed.
• Review maintenance and interventions against asset strategies and take corrective actions.
• Specifies technical requirements for new equipment aligned with lifecycle analysis.
