About the role

We have a brand-new opportunity for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team based in Oxford.

Our Oxford office was established to provide a local presence on our projects. We have an abundance of expertise and knowledge that is regularly called upon throughout the firm, mainly within complex engineering sectors such as Science and Research and Healthcare.

As a Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting and delivering designs for a range of project types and sizes. You will work within a multidisciplinary team of engineers and consultants delivering design solutions of the highest standard for our clients.

In this key and varied role, you can expect to:

• Work on a varied portfolio of projects both in the UK and Internationally.
• Lead electrical services design on large projects and overall MEP on small to medium-sized projects within the office.
• Be responsible for dealing successfully with Clients and other professionals.
• Define and agree brief with Client.
• Competently represent Hoare Lea at project meetings.
• Manage and prioritise the workload of a project team including specialist groups.
• Host and chair internal project team meetings.
• Contribute to the professional development of individual team members and identify opportunities.
• Ensure quality standards and technical accuracy is delivered.
• Report cost and resource requirements to the team leader on a regular basis.

About you

To be successful in this role you’ll need:

• Proven experience working as an Electrical Engineer or in a closely related role, with a track record delivering on a variety of complex projects.
• Experience of modern technical delivery processes, and use of relevant software/tools such as BIM, Revit, Electrical OM, Dialux and Relux.
• Demonstrable experience working with clients/contractors / architects in a design-oriented / consultant role.
• Self-awareness, an open mind, and a spirit of generosity
• Experience in supporting others to develop knowledge, skills, and confidence.
