Job summary

Arup in the UK is seeking a Senior Electrical Services Engineer to join its Building Engineering team in Sheffield or Leeds. You will lead multidisciplinary projects, provide technical guidance and mentor other electrical engineers on complex schemes.

You’ll work across higher education, healthcare, and industry sectors, contribute to zero-carbon goals and drive digital enhancements in design delivery. A chartership path and collaborative culture await.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Electrical Services Engineering, ideally Master’s level.
• Working towards a Chartership.
• Excellent design and technical skills.
• Have had lead design responsibility on projects for the Electrical Services Engineering.
• Experience working collaboratively in multi-disciplinary design teams.
• Demonstrable experience in electrical building services design across a range of project scales and building types.
• Strong planning and organisation skills.
• Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written.
• Able to demonstrate strong commercial awareness and ability to develop external relationships.
• Committed to professional development and seeking challenging work to develop engineering skills.
• Passion for design and sustainable building design.
• Experience with design analysis software.
• Experience in BIM environment using Revit is beneficial.
• Experience in managing small teams to ensure delivery of projects.
• Experience in training and developing younger engineers and technicians.

We have opportunity for a Senior Electrical Engineer looking for technically challenging work on cutting-edge projects, to join our established Building Engineering team. Arup’s Building Engineering Services team are currently working on a wide range of projects, including:

• Higher Education - University of Sheffield Central Teaching Laboratories and Faculty of Health projects, Sheffield Hallam University Alliance framework - various major projects, Advanced Manufacturing Buildings for the University of Sheffield
• Healthcare - projects Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trusts, National Centre for Child Health Technology new building for Sheffield Children’s hospital
• Science and Industry - Several major scale and complex industrial projects in the Don Valley

As a Senior Electrical Services Engineer, you will be a key part of the Building Services Engineering Senior Team, managing multidisciplinary projects while providing technical support and mentoring to the other Electrical engineers. You will be part of a collaborative team of over 20 Building Services engineers and technicians in the Sheffield office and a wider 100+ engineers and technicians within the Northwest & Yorkshire region.
