Job Description
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve electrical systems strategies aligned with facilities management objectives.
  • Design, commission, and maintain High Voltage (HV) Ring Mains, HV substations, and other electrical distribution systems to ensure safe, reliable power supply.
  • Oversee and execute small domestic electrical installations in compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.
  • Lead proactive electrical asset management initiatives to optimise performance and extend asset lifecycle.
  • Manage maintenance programs, upgrades, and ensure electrical infrastructure meets all compliance and safety standards.
  • Monitor energy consumption and identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency across electrical systems.
  • Supervise, lead, and support a team of 3 electricians, ensuring safety, productivity, and professional development.
  • Coordinate electrical engineering activities with contractors, suppliers, internal teams, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Manage budgets, resources, and schedules associated with electrical engineering projects to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Conduct regular inspections, fault diagnosis, and maintenance of switchgear and electrical equipment.
  • Prepare comprehensive technical reports, risk assessments, and project documentation for senior management and regulatory bodies.
  • Provide technical guidance, training, and support to team members and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure strict adherence to health and safety regulations, electrical codes, industry standards, and company policies.
The Successful Applicant

Qualifications and Experience:

  • HND in Electrical Engineering (essential).
  • Extensive experience in High Voltage (HV) systems including Ring Mains and substations.
  • Proven background in small domestic electrical installations and switchgear maintenance.
  • Strong asset management and energy efficiency expertise.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing and developing a small technical team.
  • In-depth knowledge of electrical safety regulations and compliance standards.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and project management skills.
  • Ability to liaise effectively with contractors, suppliers, and cross-functional teams.
