Job summary

Dornan Group seeks an Electrical Engineering Lead to join a major project in London. You will provide technical leadership across the project lifecycle, coordinating design, installation, commissioning, and handover while aligning with Dornan's vision and values.

You will lead electrical engineering activities on site, manage procurement and reviews, mentor engineers, and ensure high safety standards throughout the project lifecycle from design to handover.

Qualifications

• Strong technical knowledge for a lead electrical engineering role.
• Good commercial awareness within construction projects.
• Understanding of Health & Safety and Environmental standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate electrical engineering activities from design through to commissioning and handover.
• Provide technical leadership and resolve complex electrical engineering issues.
• Review electrical designs to ensure compliance with project requirements and standards.
• Manage procurement activities, including technical reviews and equipment approvals.
• Monitor engineering and site progress against project schedules.
• Coordinate with project teams, clients, consultants, and supply chain to ensure delivery.
• Promote and maintain high Health & Safety standards across all activities.
• Support commissioning, project close-out, and handover activities.
• Mentor and develop Electrical Project Engineers and Junior Engineers.
• Drive engineering best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Act as the lead technical authority for electrical engineering matters.

The Role

TheElectrical Engineering Leadwill provide technical leadership for the electrical engineering function across the project lifecycle, coordinating design, installation, commissioning, and handover activities while ensuring Dornan's vision, mission, and values are delivered throughout the project.

• Lead and coordinate electrical engineering activities from design through to commissioning and handover.
• Provide technical leadership and resolve complex electrical engineering issues.
• Review electrical designs to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
• Manage procurement activities, including technical reviews and equipment approvals.
• Monitor engineering and site progress against project schedules.
• Coordinate with project teams, clients, consultants, and the supply chain to ensure successful delivery.
• Promote and maintain high Health & Safety standards across all project activities.
• Support commissioning, project close-out, and handover activities.
• Mentor and develop Electrical Project Engineers, Graduate Engineers, and Junior Engineers.
• Drive engineering best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Act as the lead technical authority for electrical engineering matters on assigned projects.

About You

Your Experience

• Strong technical knowledge within aleadelectrical engineering role.
• Good commercial awareness within construction projects.
• Understanding of Health, Safety, and Environmental standards.
• Design & Build Project Experience
• Data Centre Experience is preferable
• Experience in managing other engineers

Your Qualifications

• Previous experience working within the construction industry.
• Previous experience working in a similar role
