Job summary

Dornan Group seeks an Electrical Engineering Lead for a major project in London. You will provide technical leadership across the project lifecycle, coordinating design, installation, commissioning and handover to ensure delivery in line with Dornan’s vision and standards.

You will lead a team of engineers on a high-profile site, drive engineering best practices, manage procurement and collaborate with clients and partners to achieve successful delivery.

Qualifications

• Strong technical knowledge in lead electrical engineering roles.
• Commercial awareness on construction projects.
• Understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental standards.
• Experience designing, building and delivering electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical engineering activities from design through commissioning and handover.
• Provide technical leadership and resolve complex electrical issues.
• Review designs for compliance with requirements and standards.
• Manage procurement including technical reviews and approvals.
• Monitor progress against project schedules on site.
• Coordinate with project teams, clients, consultants and supply chain.
• Promote high Health & Safety standards across activities.
• Support commissioning, close-out and handover.
• Mentor Electrical Project Engineers and junior staff.
• Drive engineering best practices and continuous improvement.
• Act as lead technical authority on electrical matters.

The Role

TheElectrical Engineering Leadwill provide technical leadership for the electrical engineering function across the project lifecycle, coordinating design, installation, commissioning, and handover activities while ensuring Dornan's vision, mission, and values are delivered throughout the project.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate electrical engineering activities from design through to commissioning and handover.
• Provide technical leadership and resolve complex electrical engineering issues.
• Review electrical designs to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
• Manage procurement activities, including technical reviews and equipment approvals.
• Monitor engineering and site progress against project schedules.
• Coordinate with project teams, clients, consultants, and the supply chain to ensure successful delivery.
• Promote and maintain high Health & Safety standards across all project activities.
• Support commissioning, project close-out, and handover activities.
• Mentor and develop Electrical Project Engineers, Graduate Engineers, and Junior Engineers.
• Drive engineering best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Act as the lead technical authority for electrical engineering matters on assigned projects.

About You

Your Experience

• Strong technical knowledge within aleadelectrical engineering role.
• Good commercial awareness within construction projects.
• Understanding of Health, Safety, and Environmental standards.
• Design & Build Project Experience
• Data Centre Experience is preferable
• Experience in managing other engineers

Your Qualifications

• Previous experience working within the construction industry.
• Previous experience working in a similar role
