This is a hands-on senior engineering role where you'll take ownership of electronic system architecture, product development, and technical leadership, helping deliver high-performance products from concept through to manufacture.
What you'll be doing:
- Lead the design, development, and delivery of complex electronic systems and hardware products.
- Define electronic system architectures and subsystem strategies across hardware and embedded firmware.
- Design circuits, review PCB layouts, and support prototype development, testing, and validation.
- Drive technical excellence throughout the product lifecycle, ensuring performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
- Support verification, validation, and compliance activities within regulated or quality-driven environments.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams across engineering, production, quality, and operations.
- Manage relationships with suppliers and manufacturing partners to support successful product delivery.
- Mentor and support engineers, helping to develop a collaborative and high-performing engineering team.
What experience you'll need to apply:
- Significant experience designing and developing complex electronic products and systems.
- Strong background in analogue, digital, and power electronics design.
- Proven experience defining system architectures and leading technical development activities.
- Hands-on expertise in circuit design, schematic capture, PCB development, and prototype testing.
- Experience with embedded firmware development using C/C++.
- Knowledge of EMC, product safety standards, and engineering risk management processes.
- Experience working within regulated, safety-critical, or high-reliability engineering environments.
- Strong technical problem-solving skills with the ability to make informed engineering decisions.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
- A proactive and organised approach with a focus on quality, continuous improvement, and product performance.
- Experience developing embedded systems with RTOS-based environments.
- Experience working with external manufacturers, suppliers, and supply chains.
- Exposure to medical devices, assistive technologies, or other highly regulated products.
- Previous experience within a scale-up, high-growth, or fast-paced product development environment.
